OECD Again Cuts Outlook On Pessimistic U.S. Forecast

The OECD said it expects "financial headwinds" to abate in the first half of 2009, but it warned that developments in financial markets could yet lead to further strains on the economy. They include "a more pronounced adjustment of housing prices and further mortgage-related losses; a severe adjustment in the U.S. commercial real-estate market; or a longer than expected U.S. recession that would in turn deepen financial market losses."
