Stopping Airbus From Building U.S. Planes

The under-qualified Airbus believes it remains a valid competitor with Boeing to build the Air Force’s mid-air refueling tanker, and they plan to win a future bid to replace more than 450 transport planes, according to The Seattle Times.

The original deal – unfairly awarding Airbus the $40 billion contract to build the refueling plane – should have never been given to Airbus, but was because of errors committed by the Air Force. The mistakes by the Air Force placed the lives of American military in danger and would cost American workers 14,000 jobs. It remains in America’s best interests to award Boeing this job and keep all future production domestic.

Source The Seattle Times:

Despite the Pentagon decision last week to redo the big Air Force refueling-tanker competition won in February by Airbus parent EADS and its partner Northrop Grumman, top EADS executives remain determined to break into the U.S. defense market.

And they are eyeing more than tankers.

And executives spoke optimistically of winning another big U.S. military airplane contract: They aim to eventually replace more than 450 U.S. Army midsize transport planes.
