Stocks Fluctuate on Financial and Commodity Declines +  


After stumbling to close the week Wall Street was expected to jump during the morning today. Unfortunately, all three major American indexes were down by 11 a.m. Bloomberg News blamed the fluctuation on declines by corporate financial firms and commodity producers.

WTO Faults Aid to Airbus +  


The World Trade Organization ruled last week that European aircraft maker Airbus has received nearly $20 billion in illegal government subsidies in the form of “launch aid” that provided the company with a competitive advantage over rival aircraft makers.

Sarkozy to Take Tanker Fight to Obama +  


The U.S. government is not obligated to open contracts to foreign companies, or even to domestic private companies. Our government could easily do what every other nation in the world does by only making procurements from domestic companies.

Flat Open on Anniversary of Bear-Market Low 1  


Since hitting bottom one year ago each index has rallied more than 50 percent, but the long-term trend does not necessarily mean we will see more rallies throughout trading today.

BP has already failed on its promise to promptly fund all financial claims resulting from the spill. The oil giant spared no expense when it came to funding television and radio commercials and building a claims website.

Tuesday was a sad day for this country. The House had the opportunity to stop the war in Afghanistan in its tracks. Instead it voted to continue to fund the war approving the $58.8 billion war funding bill.
