The WTO Agreement Must be Canceled Immediately
Our Economy is Collapsing due to Our Membership in the WTO
America is irresponsibly controlled and managed by other nations through the WTO’s rulings. Our economy is collapsing and we cannot stop it.
We must immediately withdraw from the WTO and become a self controlled, self managed government. We must be able to make our own decisions and act in our own best interests. We cannot do this while worrying about what charges other nations will bring against us and how the WTO will pass judgment.
Free trade, coupled with our unregulated free market system, is creating the perfect position for countries that utilize state capitalism to destroy our economy. They take advantage of our lack of planning. What we have opened ourselves up to is not competition, it is an open takeover.
By outsourcing our manufacturing we are not only giving our competitors the keys to our factories, we are giving them the blueprints to our innovation – and the means to put our companies out of business. We have already witnessed this takeover of technology with televisions – all of the U.S. name brands are gone. The United States no longer makes any of the technologies we invented. Look at cell phones for example. None are made here in America.
As this continues, we are creating a system of serfdom. We are becoming a colony, and we will be controlled and managed by foreigners.
Yet the solutions are very simple.
• Get out of the WTO
• Cancel all free trade agreements
• Place tax burdens on companies that outsource American jobs or give away American technology
If we did this, we could bring our balance of trade deficit down and create the jobs Americans are looking for. President Obama stated that for every $1 billion in exports, we gain 14,000 jobs. Our average yearly trade deficit is $600 billion. This means that if we balanced our trade we would gain 8,400,000 jobs.
But to do this we must immediately withdraw from the WTO. We cannot balance our trade with foreign super-governmental bodies telling us what we can and cannot do.
The American economy is collapsing. We will not be able to stop it as long as we are controlled by the WTO.

Thomas; Your objective to regain control of our trade policies and decisions is absolutley right. But your
idea that withdrawal from the WTO will meet that objective would only be a partial first step. Then what would we do?Much stronger and direct action would be to enact balanced trade legislation and enforce it firmly, starting with 2013. It will take most of 2012 to get ready to put the new law into effect, but it will have
immediate results that withdrawal from the WTO won’t
touch. Best of all, we can enact and enforce this law
unilaterally. We don’t need to negatiate or get approval
from anyone. What’s holding you back, sir?

Thomas:
In my comment, I should have added that Sherrod Brown, Ohio’s senior Senator should be a likely sponsor of an
update version of draft bill S.3899, The Balanced
Trade Restoration Act of 2006″. Neither President G.W. Bush or President Obama pursued that bill. Its two
sponsors, Senators Dorgan and Feingold are no longer in
the Senate. Sherrod Brown has become the strongest leader
on fair trade and aggressive actions to aid U.S.firms. He should be very supportive of a balanced trade law now
now to help in his Senate re-election campaign this year.
