Tax troubles have tripped up another Obama administration official.

Nancy Killefer withdrew from consideration to be the federal government's chief performance officer -- a new position -- because of her past failure to pay unemployment taxes for household help at her D.C. home.

"I recognize that your agenda and the duties facing your chief performance officer are urgent," Killefer wrote in a letter to President Barack Obama Tuesday. "I have also come to realize in the current environment that my personal tax issue of D.C. unemployment tax could be used to create exactly the kind of distraction and delay those duties must avoid. Because of this I must reluctantly ask you to withdraw my name from consideration."

So is that now 5 people he has considered/appointed for a position that haven't paid their taxes? Yet we Americans should pay more to be "patriotic"?????

So.....anyone seeing yet that there is NO difference between the two parties??? Or are we still bias and hate Republicans?

It's your choice, you can keep to your "side" and pretend that Obama is so much better than bush and he is the messiah here to save us all......

OR

You can see him for what he really is...another corrupt politician that tricked you with a great marketing campaign. American's are marketing tools and this just proves it even further.

Oh...and I won't begin to mention the 17 (yes, 17) lobbyists he has appointed to positions all around the U.S.

He will sell us out to NAFTA and everything else just as every other politician did...great job America!!! way to research your candidates and vote for "your" party.

I am tired of paying for stupid, fat, lazy American mistakes. Just give them a slogan and repeat it enough times...they will vote for you.

So make sure you go out and pay MORE taxes so you can be patriotic!!!! But ignore all the liberals that are behind the curtains telling you to do so but aren't paying theirs....LoL!!!!!

God Bless America!!!!!

The idea that Obama is somehow worse than Bush is foolish and it overlooks the problem. It isn't Obama v. Bush, it is bad intentions v. America. Politicians are out for themselves, unfortunately they are also the ones we keep putting into places of power. Instead of gripping about the new president (or the old one for that matter) we should be upset about the sheer self-interest of ALL politicians. They get rich as "public servants" while we bite the bullet. American kids have to join the military just so they can pay for college yet almost every politician lives carefree off the fat of the taxpayer.

Instead of pinning for the "god ole' days" when fiscal conservatives ran the show you should actually do something and STOP VOTING FOR THESE IDIOTS. You wouldn't trust a lawyer with yard work on most occassions... we think of them as vile, bloodthirsty, greedy losers... yet they are the ubiquitous choice for our places of power? DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT or sit down and stop complaining.

I suppose people have already forgotten Bush and the mess we are in because of the last 8 years - like sending $5678 Billion to buy foreign stuff excluding oil. Please, do not pin that on Obama. If we had a trade balance in 2007 and 2008, we would have started new year with a $19 Trillion dollar healthy GDP and not a GDP on debt and life support! Look at the numbers first.

Kills 22 people. Good job Mr. Obama, that's real change! Killing innocent people sure makes us more safe.

Appoints an outsourcer as Secretary of Commerce and now a Chamber of Commerce
as another appointee. Shame on you Mr. Obama, we are hoping that you were going to
help the American Middle Class.

Senator's McCain's free trade amendment was routed 65 to 31. As far as I am concerned McCain has some screws missing. He always seems to be on the verge of losing his composure. He was the coauthor of the McCain-Kennedy Immigration Reform Bill which was nothing more than amnesty for 20 to 30 million illegals in our country. To say that Obama might be better than McCain says absolutely nothing. McCain and Obama were a choice?

The USA should really be worried about a trade war with our 800 billion dollar trade deficit, even though it would be a real world shakeup. As I see it we hold ALL the marbles, EXCEPT for our foreign borrowings. But we are already at war, we just don't know it. Are we supposed to capitulate so the Europeans and the Asians don't get upset? They can both take a long walk off a short pier, along with ANY other country who think that they have a right to dictate ANYTHING to us.

My question is: When did I elect the Federal Reserve and its board to rule over us? Talk about gods? They wear beards and try to act intelligent, and the American people buy into it and accept their rule.

It's time to pull the American military out of Korea and Europe and let them pay their own tab.

Americans think globally and act globally, while the Chinese, Japanese, Europeans, etc., talk globally and act nationally. Who are the world's real dummies? I for one am tired of being the world's dummy.

"It serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another."
-George Washington on factions/political parties

I was not a fan of Bush by no means, but do people not pull their heads out and think? The corrupt brainiacs that WE have put in the house and senate were as much if not more responsible for the current economic problems than Bush. And Obama is giving us all to terrorist and foriegn governments and there isn't anything we can do about it, because we are all just puppets just like him. All I can say is it is a good thing they will never be in the position to take away our guns.

guest says "Obama and Bush are horrible" on 05/11/09
At least Bush ran around the world trying to sell American beef and steel, it is the trade wars against the US that's destroying our economy. Not the subprime crisis. BOTH Obama and Bush increased the size of government and they both pushed for the unethical and expensive bank bailout. If the subprime crisis were to be remedied, the bankers of the failed banks would be in jail.
Obama is tying strings onto these banks with these bailouts. Not to mention, wouldn't aid to the world be easier to give if the American dollar was actually worth something? If Obama was this "world citizen" shoudln't he be convincing the WTO to stop defending China's trade war on the U.S.? Obama is just like Bush, he's making a bad situation even worse.

guest says "Horrible Obama" on 06/01/09
Is Obama horrible because he did not hire a brand new batch of people who could have fixed our economy? No, he could not, because, people are complaining so much now, imagine when he gets new people. No one has the experience to get the country out of depression. Those are long dead. And the republicans are clueless on economy. So, make the path as you push ahead....

flaquisimo says "The problem is not OBAMA." on 07/15/09
hE IS THE SOLUTION. Unfortunately, the corruypted bubble of Washington is chockinh his action.
Elect in 2011 an apolitical "people's Capitol" and sudenly every target of Obama will be reached.

Politicking is killing America, managed by special interests represented by lobbyists that bribe and corrupt the Capitolio with perks and money under the table.

Let Obama Work... Sen all lobbyists to the Moon!!!
