It took a war to get out of the last depression, what will it take to get out of this one? With America's military power, will it go quietly, or turn it's weapons on the rest of the world? And if America does go out, will China become the next world power? The outlook is grim to me. Please tell me that it is stupid to think that another World War is coming.

It may not be WWIII, but we will be involved in a major war very soon that could come very close to WWIII. Here is the scenario. It is 2012 December 24th. America is enjoying the newly elected President (does not matter who it is). That is when China invades Taiwan on the pretext of a Taiwanese incursion setup by the Chinese. What is our President to do?

A North Korea scenario could be there...but that would not go very far. Same for Iran, unless Iran attacks Israel which would be a very short war.
